AI Bill of Rights Ethics & The Law – Digital Hollywood
October 19, 2023 @ 12:00 - 18:00
Digital Hollywood caused a bit of a stir for its virtual meeting with Hollywood and tech executives (including Nvidia and Adobe) looking to explore artificial intelligence technology in Hollywood while writers and actors are on strike.
Now, it’s back for round two, and the company hopes to profit off the idea of ethics.
The virtual conference “Artificial Intelligence: Establishing a Bill of Rights!” is scheduled for October 19, 2023, starting at 12 noon ET. The conference aims to tackle pressing issues surrounding the role of AI in society, law, and technology. The event is free to attend and opens for registration on September 15, 2023.
The conference starts with a keynote roundtable discussing government versus industry self-regulation in AI. The sessions address intellectual property rights in Generative AI, human interaction with AI technologies, and international data regulations. One session will focus on the EU AI Act and the emerging U.S. Bill of Rights for AI, comparing the two regulatory approaches.
Issues related to the creative community are on the agenda, discussing the impact of AI on artists and the entertainment industry, including the ongoing Hollywood strikes related to AI use. Legal topics extend to deep fakes, discussing their creative potential and ethical dilemmas.
Another session aims to delve into AI governance, considering domestic and international efforts to regulate AI, including legislation and executive initiatives. The state of AI law in terms of copyright infringement and other legal cases currently in progress is another point of focus.
The conference wraps up with end-of-day roundtables, one of which delves into AI as both an innovation and a potential threat. The second explores the potential for AI-enabled criminal activity, discussing the corruptibility of machine learning data and other security risks.
With speakers ranging from professors to executives and legal experts, the conference hopes to offer a comprehensive look at the multi-faceted challenges and opportunities that AI presents.
